Meet Our Instructors

KYLIE MORRISON: Teacher and Director, Astarte Studio

Kylie 'Astarte' brings over 22 years of training and experience in classical oriental, cabaret and folkloric styles to her classes and performances.

Since 2005 she has also been immersed in tribal and fusion styles, studying ATS and fusion under master teachers  as well as integrating her own unique style an flavour into the contemporary fusion repertoire.

Kylie has taught and performed at events across Australia and has gained a reputation for her innovative and creative approach to performance, choreography and costuming.

Kylie holds a Bachelor of Education (Art), and is a certified Fitness Leader, Personal Trainer, Pilates and Barre Instructor.  She is also a certified teacher in Keti Sharif's A-Z Original and Advanced Belly Dance format. 

TRACY GOODGER: World Fusion  (FCBD style) Belly Dance for Beginners

​Tracy became a regular member of Astarte Studio in 2008 via Pilates classes. After 5 years of attending and supporting our events, Tracy finally took the plunge and joined our beginners bellydancing class in 2012. In the same year she started studying Tribal (ATS), which has since become her main passion.

Tracy is an active and supportive member of our studio, performing at a 
variety of events, as well as being a member fo the sudo's advanced Tribal troupe, and Steampunk Vagabonds theatrical troupe. 

​Tracy brings a solid knowledge of the body and functional movement to her teaching skill set, having been a students of yoga and Pilates for over 10 years. Tracy is also  a regular volunteer at community and charity events through her role in the financial department for The Disability Trust.

"I've loved & felt the benefits of regular Dance, Pilates, Yoga practice over the years for my overall physical and emotional well-being. Meeting such inspirational women along the way has been wonderful, with many friendships formed along the way." 


ELLIE TAYLOR: Belly Dance Beginners & Beyond

Ellie began her bellydance journey through Kylie's classes at Fernwood Women's Health Club, Shellharbour in 2014, and joined Astarte Studio in 2015.

In only a few short years Ellie's dedication, focus, style and natural grace has seen her join our advanced performance troupes in Oriental style, as well as our olde world fusion performance troupe, the Steampunk Vagabonds. Ellie is also our team leader for the world wide Shimmy Mob project. 

With a PhD in Psychology from UOW, Ellie is committed to mental health, and in providing a safe and nurturing environment for her students and clients to thrive in. This makes Ellie a caring, empathetic, and natural leader, and we are thrilled to have her as part of our teaching team and Dance Magic team at the studio. ​


PINA GAUCI: Belly Dance Beginners & Beyond and Tribal

Pina joined our studio in 2013 after attending belly dance classes with Kylie at a local fitness centre, and has since become an integral member of the studios performance and teaching teams.

Pina is experienced in oriental, tribal and fusion, and is a member of our advanced oriental and tribal troupes, as well as the Steampunk Vagabonds theatrical troupe.

Pina's passion for the dance, for learning, and for creative expression shines through in her teaching and her choreographies.  


JULIE RANSOM: Casual Teacher (Tribal)

​Julie joined Astarte Studio belly dance classes in 2011, beginning with Oriental style bellydance and then adding Tribal (ATS) to her repertoire.

Julie has been a regular participant in our concerts and community events, our Children's Dance Magic Parties, and is a member of the studio's Steampunk Vagabonds troupe.

With a Graduate Diploma in Education and Master in Education (Special Education), Julie brings a strong teaching background and skill set to her classes.

In addition to regular attendance at Astarte Studio, Julie has participated in workshops with Paivi, Virginia, Jrisi, Rachel Bond and Aradia to expand on her dance knowledge and skills.
